New to move? Start here.
Yes. If you haven't had a gym orientation with us before, you'll need to book one before your first workout. It gets you set up safely on the equipment, shows you how the app works and gives you a plan to start from.
You can book your orientation online or in the move app.
A member of the team will be on hand to welcome you and check you in at reception. It only takes a moment.
Yes — lockers are available at our centres for you to use during your visit.
Reserve your place, or turn up and pay.
We recommend pre-booking — it's the best way to guarantee your place. You can book online or through the move app.
You're also welcome to turn up and pay by card on the day. If you do, please arrive at least 10 minutes before to make sure there's space.
Members can book up to 7 days ahead. Pay & play customers can book up to 5 days ahead.
Once you've booked a pay & play activity it can't usually be cancelled, refunded or moved to another time. You'll only be entitled to a refund if we have to cancel the activity for reasons beyond our control.
Yes — many of our activities have group booking options, so you can secure places for your whole group in a single booking.
One membership, every centre.
One membership gives you the gym, swimming and our full programme of fitness classes across our centres in Trafford — plus workout tracking and on-demand virtual classes at home. See the full details on our memberships page.
You can apply to freeze your membership on medical grounds. Get in touch and we'll point you to the right form and talk you through it.
If you're on a flexible membership, you can cancel any time after your first three months.
Fixed memberships run for a minimum of 6 or 12 months in return for a lower monthly rate, so they can't be cancelled within that period except for the reasons set out in our terms and conditions.
For anything membership-related, contact our Customer Hub and we'll help.
Absolutely. You can view all the options and re-join online on our memberships page.
Lessons, lanes and open swims.
You can book general swimming, lane swimming, bubble swimming and more. Check what's on and when on our swimming timetable, then book online or in the app.
Please pick the lane that matches your pace — slow, medium or fast — and be ready to move if the lifeguard asks. To keep everyone safe and swimming comfortably, you'll need to be able to swim at least 50 metres.
You'll be sharing the pool with swimmers of all abilities, so a little courtesy goes a long way.
For swimming lessons, we provide all the aids your child needs. For general swimming, please bring your own — floats, armbands or noodles aren't provided at open sessions.
Yes — spectating is welcome at general swimming and lessons. For lessons, where possible we ask that just one adult comes with each child, to keep poolside comfortable.
Yes. Our disability swim sessions are for anyone living with a disability or a long-term health condition who wants to build water confidence and enjoy the benefits of swimming.
We have a disability changing room with a toilet, shower and changing bed, and gradual steps with a handrail into the small pool. A pool hoist is also available — just ask a member of the team when you arrive.
Everything about your child's lessons — including their progress — is on the Home Portal. If you don't have your login, just ask the Swim Well team at your centre.
Group exercise, junior gym and more.
Most classes run between 30 and 50 minutes depending on the format — group exercise is around 45 minutes, spin around 30. See the full line-up on our timetables.
Where you can, please bring your own mat and plenty of water. Everything else is provided.
Our group exercise classes are for ages 16 and over. For younger members, take a look at junior gym and our wider activities.
Yes — our junior gym sessions are designed for 11–15 year olds, in supervised, age-appropriate areas of our gyms. All sessions must be booked online in advance.
Making move open to everyone.
Yes. If you're over 65, a student, living with a disability or long-term condition, on a low income or receiving benefits, or a veteran living in Trafford, you may be eligible for up to 50% off the gym, swim, classes or racquet sports through our concessionary scheme.
Find out more on our memberships page.
Active Trafford is a specialist membership that makes sure cost is never a barrier to being active. Pass holders can access swimming, the gym and classes at a discounted rate. See our memberships page for eligibility and how to apply.
Active Trafford pay & play access runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 9am–12pm.
Registering your car and appeals.
At some of our centres you'll need to enter your registration on the tablet in reception each time you visit. If you're not sure or need a hand, just ask a member of the team — they're happy to help.
If you parked with us but didn't manage to enter your registration, we can help appeal the fine. Get in touch with the details and a copy of the fine and we'll take it from there.
